The Next Career Move

Sidelined on the shores, a shining conch –
Reminisces about the days when it was in the sea.

Sometimes ball-dancing in sync with the ocean.
“Oh, I got my moves, man. Such a fluid body I have –
in the midst of a massive fluid body.”

Sometimes dating a nearby coral.
“Hey, first of all – how old are you? Don’t mistake me.
This sure is also dating, as archaeologists say.”

Sometimes anchored to the granular sands of the ocean bed.
“Good to know there’s a bed made of sand.
Human moms get mad at children for soiling the bed.”

“I had my best time out there in the blue.
Moving on to my next role – as a wind instrument.
Not sure it’s worth waiting for someone to blow me away.
Until then, allowing everybody to blow into me.
Let the music begin…”
